Frontier Science (Scotland) Ltd (FSS) is a subsidiary of a US based non-profit foundation involved in many areas of clinical trials. The parent company, Frontier Science and Technology Research Foundation, Inc (FSTRF) has three offices in the USA (Boston, MA, Buffalo, NY and Madison, WI) all involved in clinical trials. FSS currently has 14 staff members, is involved in several projects, and is expanding its activities.
We are looking for two statisticians to join a team of 5 statisticians and to work on all statistical aspects of several international breast cancer trials. This may include design work, development of the statistical analysis plan, design, development and testing of statistical programs, preparation and maintenance of appropriate documentation, conduct of analyses, preparation of reports for the Independent Data Monitoring Committee and Trial Steering Committee and, at the appropriate time, assistance in the preparation of trial related publications. The precise role of each post will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicants.
The work is under the overall direction of two senior statisticians; one in FSS and one who is a Professor of Biostatistics at Harvard University and Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, USA.
Two posts are offered, one at a more senior level. At least a good first degree or Masters in statistics and knowledge of a statistical software package such as SAS or SPSS are required for both posts. Prior experience in clinical trials or in a clinical environment would be an advantage for the junior post. For the senior post a minimum of three years' experience in clinical trials is required, and evidence of involvement in the production of publications or clinical study reports is preferred.

FSS is located in the village of Kincraig in the Cairngorm National Park in the Scottish Highlands. The positions would be ideal for a statistician who enjoys a stimulating professional environment and is interested in outdoor activities. Some international travel will be required.
Starting salary for these positions is dependent on relevant qualifications and/ or prior experience. The positions are probationary for 6 months and will be for a duration of three years in the first instance, with possible extension beyond that time if funding is available.
