This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with at least an MSc
in epidemiology, statistics, public health or a related subject,
looking to develop their career as an epidemiologist. You will work
on the analysis of large sets of anonymous data from general practice
in which diagnoses, symptoms, hospital admissions and prescription
details are recorded routinely. You will be expected to contribute to
study reports, peer reviewed publications, conference presentations
and seminars. For those who are keen to develop their teaching
portfolio, there will be opportunities to contribute to under- and
postgraduate teaching.
You will work in a small team supervised by Corinne de Vries,
professor of pharmacoepidemiology. The team comprises of a lecturer
and statistician, a database manager, research fellows and PhD
students. We work together with pharmacists and clinicians with
clinical expertise relevant to the research projects.
Appropriate research experience, computing and statistical skills are
essential. Experience in relational database management using SQL and
analysis using a statistical package such as STATA are desirable.
The appointment is fixed term for two years and is based at the
Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology of the University of Bath.
