POSITION: Statistical Research Associate – 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Full-Time 36 hours per week)

Responsibilities
The Statistical Research Associate (SRA) will join the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre (NPEC) [http://www.ucc.ie/en/npec/]. NPEC is based in the new University College Cork Anu Research Centre in Cork, Ireland, which is a national collaboration of scientists and clinicians searching for ways to improve the health of mothers and infants in Ireland. We are seeking a master’s-level biostatistician, statistician or epidemiologist with strong analytic programming skills to support our team as a Quantitative/SRA. The SRA will join NPEC providing support for the statistical analysis of large-population perinatal-related association studies. NPEC is a HSE funded multiple-year program with the goal to identify factors associated with adverse maternal and neonatal health outcomes and to investigate strategies to improve mothers and infants health in Ireland.
Major Duties
• Manage large, complex datasets
• Assist in determining optimum statistical study designs
• Perform data analyses
• Support the development and implementation of novel statistical methods relevant for large cohort association studies
• Prepare written summaries and table of results
• Document statistical analyses
• Participate in protocol team conference calls and meetings
• Prepare written summaries and table of results for use in project reports, scientific papers,
• Document and archive statistical documents
• Perform other responsibilities as required
Qualifications
A master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics or epidemiology with strong quantitative and computational skills. A minimum of one year of experience required. Experience with statistical and computational methods for the analysis of large datasets is required. Applicants must have a background in statistical computing /programming and proficiency with SAS, STATA, and transfer packages is required. Knowledge of ICD-10-AM program coding is desirable. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Salary $65,768-$71,487 per annum, relocation expenses not included. This is a temporary full-time fixed-term appointment for a period of 18 months.
