Dear colleague,
Benefits is changing its name from 2010 to The Journal of Poverty and Social Justice. The Editors and Editorial Board would welcome articles that fit the Journal's newly expanded remit.
Aims and scope
The Journal of Poverty and Social Justice (formerly known as Benefits) provides a unique blend of high quality research, policy and practice from leading authors in fields related to all aspects of poverty and social exclusion. The Journal has changed its name to reflect this broader scope and the fact that it has growing international coverage. Its content spans a broad spectrum of poverty-related topics including social security, employment and unemployment, regeneration, housing, health, education and criminal justice, as well as issues of ethnicity, gender, disability and other inequalities as they relate to social justice.
With succinct articles ideal for teaching purposes and students, the Journal combines an original and exciting mix of:
~ scholarly, peer-reviewed articles
~ cutting-edge discussions of topical issues
~ a comprehensive round-up of key publications
It will be an essential resource for academics, policy makers and practitioners working in these areas.
Call for papers
The Journal welcomes papers from those working in the areas covered in the aims and scope. Papers should be between 2,500 and 5,000 words (including references) in length. Longer or shorter papers may be accepted by arrangement with the Editorial Board. An abstract of not more than 100 words should be included. All articles are refereed to assess their suitability for publication.
