Joe Smith has just assembled a PhD studentship at the OU that could be
of great interest to anyone with a PV/media/culture background.
It's a great opportunity for anyone interested in climate change, though
the deadline to apply is quite close.

Open University and Ashden Trust funded PhD Studentship
Department of Geography, The Open University
Culture and climate change
Following the award of an Open University Charter Studentship and co-
funding from The Ashden Trust, a fully funded PhD studentship with no
nationality or residence restrictions is available for three years to
start in October 2009 (or as soon as possible after).
The studentship is linked to a wider collaborative project Mediating
Change: investigating cultural work on climate change that seeks to
give context to and develop critical frameworks for evaluating new
cultural work on climate change. Cultural work includes for example:
art, literature, performance, media, architecture and design. The
interdisciplinary nature of the work suggests that the studentship may
suit individuals from a very wide range of backgrounds across the
social sciences and humanities.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 22nd July. Expected
interview date: Wednesday 29th July

The deadline is fast approaching, but it is a great opportunity. If
