Yet another programme like Braniac designed by middle aged balding persons
who no doubt read FHM. One day we’ll get our own STUFF or T3 magazines that
doesn’t feature semi naked women or aren’t of the Benny Hill does science.
It spoils what otherwise is a great programme.
Oh dear... I think I might have accidentally opened a can of worms here.
For the record I'd totally forgotten that bit was in the clip. I am firmly
of the opinion that lab coats in sci com should be avoided (unless you
actually need to protect your clothes) let alone red push up bras. Sorry if
that upset anyone.
But don't give up on Mythbusters because of that little 5 second segment.
That was part of a photoshoot for FHM not part of the programme itself (that
argument sounds weak as I type it but bear with me) I think apart from the
ratio of girls to boys which is 1 to 4 there is very little else to
criticise the programme about. It is certainly not Benny Hill does science.
And talking of science it does it better than any other show out there IMHO.
They start with an observation or claim, they think up the different parts
that then need testing, they test them as fairly as they can and then they
weigh up all their evidence. OK there might be a "one big bang" to finish
but they will say if it is just for fun and not related to the actual
experiments.
If you are interested in the Mentos and Coke demo, and especially if you are
going to tell anyone why it works, I can still recommend the clip and the
programmes.
And if you are looking for a good mag with science but without bras try
Wired. I prefer the American edition.
