Hi Everyone,
I'd like some advice and help on improving and advertising a science podcast
I am a contributor towards. The Edinburgh University Science Magazine
podcast (which can be found at http://www.eusci.org/) is run by undergrads,
postgrads, post-docs and staff from the University of Edinburgh. The
approach we've taken involves a run down of the latest science news followed
by science discussions of major news topics from the last couple of weeks.
We've covered science festivals and might be showing highlights from the
Science Communication Conference in London (depends on if we can get
adequate sound quality). We've also managed to interview several high
profile scientists including Dr. Keisuke Kaji (Stem cells, episode 5), Dr.
Phil Plait (Bad Astronomy Blog, episode 6) and Dr. John Quinn (Computer
Scientist, Uganda, episode 14).
However, we've been running it for around 9 months now and the number of
listeners hasn't risen much above a hundred. Considering the effort we
invest in putting this together I think the podcast needs more exposure. I
would really like some advice on how to increase the number of listeners.
If you'd like to listen to the podcast you can find it at
http://www.eusci.org/, or subscribe via iTunes (just search for EUSci). I
would also appreciate feedback on what you think of the podcast and please
pass the link around to anyone you think would enjoy listening to it.
Thanks for your time,
Edward Duca
