Hi Amanda,
The key issue is that consent must be informed and explicit.
Tell them to Look at the guidance from the faculty of occ medicine "guidance
on ethics for OH physicians" which is pretty comprehensive.
In addition, if HR act on information they obtained without informed consent
then they are likely to lose any IT claim, try that!

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Consent/Management Referrals
Hi all,
Our HR Manager is looking at this issue, basically he wants one consent for
that an individual can sign which will negate the need to sign further
consent
forms and enable HR to look at individual's records when they deem it
necessary.
It follows on from the self referral 'ban' in February and I feel it is
fundamentally about control of both employees and OH (as they say
knowledge is power).
Yes I know this is fundamentally wrong not to mention outside of my code of
conduct but I feel Im being bullied or maybe manipulated (again) & would
vaule
some advice as to how I can tackle this constuctivley.
Does anyone have any ideas?
