Phil
I know nothing at all about lamps but with unusual names a google
books search is a good idea BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica,
sans-serif;font-size:12px; }

And the name Turquand should be easily researchable from a genealogy
point of view

I have for several years been trying to find out more information
about the
company "Turquand and Kew" who produced the 'Ideal' miners lamp.
I have finally managed to purchase one of these oil lamps (picture
of the lamp
on my site at
http://www.users.waitrose.com/~philipclifford/Turquand.htm [2])
Although I have asked previously, on this list, for help in learning
more about
this company, I have so far drawn a blank.
I live in hope and wonder if any of the newer members of the list
might be able
to assist/
Many thanks
Phil Clifford
