Wethered Shaft at Geevor Tin Mine was begun in 1909 and a timber headframe
was constructed. It was used for haulage until 1944. In 2000, the headgear
was destroyed by a freak storm and a replica was erected in 2002 - probably
the last timber headframe built in the UK.
