Call for Nominations, MeCCSA-PGN executive committee
The MeCCSA-Postgraduate Network is calling for nominations for its
executive committee for the 2009-2010 academic year. Elections will be
held at the upcoming annual conference in Bangor on July 8-9.
The following positions are open and a brief description can be found below:
CHAIR
SECRETARY/TREASURER
COMMUNICATIONS
3 BOARD MEMBERS
Chair:
The chair is responsible for the day-to-day running of the network,
chairing all executive meetings and representing the network at the
main MeCCSA Executive meetings
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Representation at main MeCCSA level
- Coordinating all MeCCSA PGN events
- Liasing between membership, the PGN exec board and the main body
Secretary/Treasurer:
The secretary is responsible for keeping records of post-graduate
network activities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Minute taking at post-graduate meetings (3 per year)
- Circulating minutes to the PG executive committee
- Ensuring spending is on track
Communications Officer:
The Communications Officer is responsible for planning, developing and
delivering the web-based communications of the MeCCSA Postgraduate
Network
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Circulating calls for papers, job advertisements, and information on
upcoming events relevant to the postgraduate community.
- Regularly updating the website with information on all the
activities of the PG network
- Uploading bi-annual issues of the journal 'Networking Knowledge:
Journal of the MeCCSA PGN'
Board Members:
We have an opening this year for three new board member positions.
This will be your opportunity to have your voice heard and help the
officers in critical decisions they must make. Board members will aid
the officers in their roles, but will not be required to attend
meetings. These positions have not be defined yet, as we would like
the membership to help define them for us.

institution, year of study, the role you are interested in, and a
brief statement (maximum 200 words) on why you think you would be good
for this role and any goals you might have for the network.
