Subject: [IDM] new InCommon working group will be testing Microsoft Geneva beta software
The InC-Geneva collaboration group is working on integration of the suite of federation products under the umbrella of Microsoft Code Name "Geneva" with existing SAML-based federations such as the InCommon Federation in the US and other research and education federations worldwide. This includes: using Geneva products both in the identity provider and service provider roles; integration with Windows LiveID and the Microsoft Federation Gateway; issues of integration with popular Microsoft applications such as SharePoint; and whatever other issues the group deems relevant.
The Shibboleth team has already participated in interop testing with the Geneva team; basic testing has been done and the two products do work together. Final versions of the Geneva software won't ship until the end of the calendar year. If you think this software might be in your site's future, this is a chance to test it and provide feedback before version 1 of the product is locked down.
The group is already pursuing the possibility of setting up an environment similar in concept to TestShib; this site would run "known to be working" versions of the Geneva software.
There is now an InCommon mailing list to discuss Geneva and issues as described below.
The email list is [log in to unmask] The instructions to join are included below.
The wiki space is here:

That wiki space supports a broad set of federated access, so you'll more than likely be able to login and contribute without getting yet another account somewhere.
