It depends in part whether you think the rest of us live "in the real world".
Left or right facing they are there to think and dream, perhaps to
say the things that politicians can't.
There was a time not long ago when many GPs (but never more than a
large minority) might have welcomed this idea. I thought it was
voted down at a GP conference about 5 years ago (but it did get
debated on the main agenda)?
With the recession and changing public attitudes it looks either like
a complete non-starter, a way of making private practice much easier
to establish, or even a way of abolishing general practice.
One real world truth is that things won't stay as they are.
