I have changed the subject marginally (well substantially really).
Our local practice operates at two sites, about three miles apart; our
nearest is a subsidiary of the main site. They have installed a new
touch-screen based system for patients arriving for appointments; the
patient touches the screen to give a few details, sufficient to identify
them uniquely, and then gets a message confirming that they are known to
the system. An 85 year old friend, very alert and able bodied for her
age, arrived at the subsidiary practice, and with a little prompting
confirmed her arrival. She then waited for about forty minutes, and
when she was not called asked if all was well. After some keyboard
activity she was told that the appointment was at the main site. She
never ever goes there!!
I just wonder if the team would like to comment, and make suggestions
for improvements.
