Auntie has seemingly abandoned her relationship with US public service
broadcasters, seemingly prefering partners like HBO (e.g. Rome). A
friend in the US tells me that BBC channels available there are very
heavy on ads - more so than "commercial" channels. So clearly the
"public" begins and ends at home
