Everyone,
On a series of rather important memos that relate to the early Empire Service, many are signed with what looks like PHG - and I haven't been able to determine who that is (alas, I don't have a copy of the staff listing for that year).
Is there an on-line access to the BBC's staff lists, or if you saw the memo, do you think you might know? It's attached.
I'm guessing that it's actually JHG, for Joan Gilbert. If so, what was her exact title in 1941, while working with Cecil Madden, and before her television days?
I promise not to make this a habit, but I'm working on my book manuscript and I'm having a rough time reading some of these had-written notes from the WAC!
