It seems that many folks within pop culture (i.e. media pundits, sociologists) want to believe that his election signals what one writer called an era of "post-black" mentality; as though we, as Black folks, have "arrived" to a land of complete equality.
Therefore, many of the incidents of racism as conveniently under-reported by media sources to give credence to the notion that racism is dead, and pro-Black ideology is no longer required as a tool of resistance and Black pride.
