The Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom, responsible for
ensuring monetary stability and contributing to maintaining financial stability.
The Bank of England is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Archivist for
a permanent position. As part of the Archive Team, you will be expected to
support the work of the Archivist and other archive staff and be involved in all
aspects of the day-to-day running of the Archive including records appraisal
and cataloguing.
The Archive is open to visiting members of the public and deals with a wide
range of internal and external enquiries. The job holder will be expected to
deal with researchers and enquiries while contributing positively to a wide
range of archive and information management projects. The job offers an
opportunity to develop, or to extend skills in both a paper and an electronic
environment.
To apply you should be a qualified and experienced archivist with good
interpersonal, communication and written skills, who is enthusiastic, well
organised and self motivating. You will need to be flexible and able to work
under pressure to tight deadlines.
