Hi
I was interested to read Nick Barratt's letter in the Sunday Times
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/letters/article6632538.ece
commenting on TNA's proposal to shut the TNA reading rooms on Mondays.
This was announced last week

Balancing resources with competing demands is complex. I think that many
historians will continued to want to see the original document to scrutinise the
information and the record, although it is also true that many many people
want the ease to access information without travelling to Kew - and of course
there is the preservation argument to be considered. However increasingly the
original format of documents is digital - which raises many questions about
how the public will be given access to scrutinise the original creation and
capture of this information?
