Just read the new CEM Career guide. It states within that the Department of
Health reaffirms its committment to 8 Consultants per major department by
2010.
Searched on the internet and can not find any official DOH statement
Considering the start of 2010 is in 6 months.....does anyone know where the
money for these posts all are? at a time when our trust is talking about 10%
natural wastage for all posts to decrease head count to meet financial
balance for becoming an FT.
Anything to take to my CEO to double my numbers in the next 18 months?
Are there enough coming off with CCT by then?
Some trusts struggling for middle grades (we maybe starting to slide into that
pathway after we are about to lose one of our 8 person cell) will be able to
convert middle grade to Consultant posts. For us I am not so sure.
It was nice at our divisional board meeting to be told by the accountant we
had "overperformed" though that was financially due to the 8% rise in activity
this year.
However the divisional manager...unfortunately told me the CEO was not
happy we had underperformed with the Emergency Access standard!
