The York Trials Unit at the University of York is running a six day
event with two linked courses.
THE EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FINISHES ON OR BEFORE 1 AUGUST 2009
Introduction to Statistics for Clinical Trials - 24 and 25 September 2009
This course will be led by Professor Martin Bland. The aims are to give
participants a basic understanding of the statistics used in the
analysis of clinical trial data and their interpretation.

Introduction to the Design & Conduct of Clinical Trials - 28, 29, 30
September and 1 October 2009
(Accreditation for 10 credits CPD Module)
This course will cover a variety of topics including methods of
randomisation, protocol development, different trial designs and the
CONSORT statement.
Guest speakers are Dr Caroline Mozley (Head of Research & Development,
York NHS Trust), Professor Marion Campbell (University of Aberdeen) and
Dr Alan Ebbutt (GlaxoSmithKline, Greenford).
The courses should be of interest to nurses, doctors and allied health
professionals who are interested in conducting a randomised controlled
trial.
Delegates may choose to attend one or both courses.
The courses will include lectures and group sessions.
