Dear Colleagues,

Please find details below of a one hour-long, educational web tutorial relating to the selection of ePRO modalities for clinical trials. The webinar promises to be particularly interesting as the presenters come from different modality backgrounds –one from a handheld device background, one from an IVR phone background. The talks will be given from a scientific viewpoint – they will not be Company promotional.

Migrating from paper to electronic administration is perhaps one of the most significant advancements in patient-reported outcomes (PROs). Although there are clear advantages to collecting data electronically, few sponsors view these technology systems from the perspective of patients who enroll in clinical trials. Despite the fact that device-based ePRO and interactive voice response (IVR) ePRO are acknowledged as the dominant methods for electronic PRO collection, it is a major concern that so few peer-reviewed articles and publicly presented data have addressed the important principles to consider when selecting an ePRO system.

Join us for a 60-minute webinar that will discuss a newly developed ePRO modality decision tool that will guide you in selecting the most appropriate ePRO system based on your study parameters. The pros and cons of the various ePRO modalities will be discussed with an emphasis on how important patient-specific factors influence responses in an electronic format. The webinar will also highlight the categories of clinical trial parameters that should be considered when selecting an ePRO solution.

Attendees will achieve an understanding of:

Parameters of a clinical trial that affect the selection of an ePRO solution
Appropriateness of device-based and IVR ePRO for certain populations, instruments or question types
How the new modality decision tool can help you objectively evaluate ePRO solutions for your trial
Who should attend:

Clinical Study Teams
Biostatisticians & Data Managers
Outcomes Researchers
Clinical Research Physicians
Global Health Outcomes Professionals
The presenters:

James Pierce, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisor, Perceptive Informatics
Dr. Pierce is an epidemiologist and former medical science liaison. As an ePRO industry thought leader, he speaks frequently at industry meetings and advises clinical trial sponsors on the use of ePRO in clinical trials.

Brian Tiplady, Ph.D.
Senior Scientific Consulting - PRO Consulting, invivodata
Dr. Tiplady was trained as a neuroscientist and is a pioneer in the development of tests for portable platforms, such as handheld PDAs and mobile phones. He is a consultant to the industry for study design and analysis, as well as cognitive test development and deployment.
