*Post doctoral Research Fellow in Spatial Health Surveillance Modeling*
This position announcement is for a post-doctoral research fellow in a
research project that focuses on the spatio - temporal model-based
methods for monitoring of large multivariate geo-referenced health
databases.
This position will involve the development and application of new
statistical approaches to accommodate the prospective detection of
changes in vectors of disease maps.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics.
Publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific
and professional meetings are expected and encouraged.
Desired skills include proficiency in statistical computing (preferably
in R), and knowledge of spatial statistics, and Bayesian models/MCMC
techniques. Familiarity with GIS would be a plus.
The position holder will report directly to Professor Andrew Lawson,
Division of Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Department of Medicine.
This is a two year appointment.
The initial salary for this position will be $55,000.
