Environmental Knowledge Exchange Officer

*(Full time fixed term for 12 months)*
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated researcher with an
interest in knowledge exchange and science-policy dialogue to work with
a dynamic interdisciplinary team disseminating research findings to
upland stakeholders.
You will translate project results from the RELU-funded Sustainable
Uplands project into a range of formats accessible to stakeholders (e.g.
landowners, national and local government, Natural England, Scottish
Natural Heritage, Defra, Moors for the Future, general public). Formats
include information sheets, policy briefs, workshops, films for web and
DVD and a data sharing facility. You will work with stakeholder
organisations to refine the products being developed, work with a
film-maker to develop short films for web and DVD, co-facilitate
stakeholder workshops in study sites, monitor the impact of the project
and lead and co-author research papers about knowledge exchange
processes and science-policy dialogue. This ESRC funded post is to
commence 1 August 2009
You will have a PhD in an environmental discipline or a Masters degree
with a relevant track record, in addition to expertise in communicating
science through different media to stakeholders from a range of backgrounds.
