Dear Colleagues
On behalf of AGS, I attended a meeting on Wednesday which was part of the consultation process for the current review of modern languages in HE, commissioned by HEFCE and being conducted by Professor Michael Worton. The meeting seemed to be very well attended, particularly the morning session for heads of departments and schools.
There are three online consultations where individuals and subject associations can give their views:
MFL department questionnaire:

For subject associations:

For staff of Institution-Wide Language Programmes:

Please circulate these links. Professor Worton indicated that he would personally read everything submitted.
As you know, this review is being conducted in considerable haste, with an interim report going to HEFCE at the end of the month, and a final report in September (apparently we can expect this to be in the public domain some time in November).
Best wishes,
Frank
