Although my comment may have been brief and to the point, it was made
seriously.
It's a sad reflection of our legal system that we require this level of time and
expenditure on both sides for, as you put it, "due process of justice to be done
and seen to be done".
This process has no doubt caused an indeterminable amount of additional
suffering to the families, and no doubt it has not been an easy time on the
Council side.
The point I was making/inferring was that its still not over. The families still
have to endure further possible appeals, possible further court cases and/or
out of court negotiations.
This is not the "due process of justice" I want to see in this country and I find
it abhorrent. I doubt there are many on here who are happy with the way this
has ended up being dealt with by the 'system'.
