Applications are sought from experienced statisticians with knowledge of
the methodological issues of analysing large and complex longitudinal
clinical datasets, to lead statistical analyses on our expanding
programme of research funded by National Institute for Health Research
and the Wellcome Trust. The studies include a new randomized trial and
cohort of patients with stable angina pectoris (“Optimising the
Management of Angina” (OMA)) as well as large scale electronic patient
record linkages between bespoke, investigator led cohort studies, the
primary care record and the national heart attack registry (MINAP),
which contains information on different types of acute coronary
syndrome. The successful candidate will: have an MSc or PhD in a
relevant subject, knowledge of the methodological issues of analysing
large and complex longitudinal clinical datasets and have knowledge and
experience in using STATA or similar statistical software for some or
all of the following – Survival analysis, and Cox proportional hazards
modelling, multi-level modelling, Bayesian methods for example in
comparing institutional performance, repeated measures analysis and
sample size calculation. You will work closely with a full time data
manager and be required to carry out some data management.

Salary: UCL Grade 7, £32,486 - £38,250 per annum, or UCL Grade 8,
£39,313 - £46,403 per annum, inclusive of London allowance. Deliverables
and the level of responsibility will be different depending on the level
of appointment.
