One can do this, but to match the raw lustre storage bandwidth, I would
expect it would need ~8-10 10Gb equipped boxes just copying data
to/from the storage so its clearly not a sensible long-term solution
(since this would scale further when we add more storage). However,
it is our full-back and we have a couple of spare machines ready to
lash up something should posix i/o continue to not work for a while.
