other than be running one, no.
I take it you have logged in using the usual methods can are running an X
session? If not that is required for any graphics output for Starlink.
To get started with GAIA itself do:
showme sun214
there's also the GAIA cookbook (getting out of date):
showme sc17

For JAC work you should look at the various support pages they have.
