I have just spent an enjoyable weekend in Stoke-on-Trent, at the annual
Arnold Bennett conference. This included a walk around Burslem, in the
course of which I saw the very impressive frieze of reliefs on the
Wedgewood Institute, designed by John Lockwood Kipling. Worth a visit
for anyone interested in Kipling's father (and Rudyard Lake, I gather,
is nearby).
