Hi Dominic - Woah! I'd definitely say - by this definition - that
Pullman was the craftsman, and Garner the technician. Fwiw. Pullman
borrows from Blake and Milton (and Keats and Rilke) in his Dark
Materials novels, sure, but he's written nothing as stylistically
brilliant (and as emotionally harrowing) as Red Shift. xA
