A new survey of 170 employers shows that employers are 'making better use
of their OH services, particularly in respect of absence management.
Unfortunately you can't see all the results as it is on a paid for subscription
service but the authors say:
Two approaches stand out as being particularly effective in rehabilitation:
phased returns to work (cited by 40% of respondents) and return-to-work
plans which the employee has been involved in preparing (33%).
Next comes a group of four techniques that are viewed as particularly
effective by between 20% and 30% of respondents: keeping in touch by
phone during absences, obtaining medical reports, home visits, and obtaining
specialist advice about the individual's condition.
Is this what you do?
