Subject: [Appanthlist] new group for students of medical anthropology
Dear all,
please find below a call for involvement of students of medical
anthropology in the EASA network of medical anthropologists.
Regards,
Rachael

Dear fellow students,
You may have heard / read about EASA (European Association for Social
Anthropologists, http://www.easaonline.org), maybe about the biennal
conference, last held in August 2008 in Slovenia, where about 1000
anthropologists met during a week.
This professional association hosts a Medical Anthropology Network
(http://www.easaonline.org/networks/medical/index.htm) and we are the
student representatives in the network's committee.
We are trying to interconnect Ph.D. and M.A. students in Medical
Anthropology from all over Europe.
As a first step, we created a Google Group, StuMedAnth
(http://groups.google.com/group/StuMedAnth-EASA?hl=en-GB) and invite you to
subscribe :
- With your participation, the google group could become an active network
of medical anthropology students.
- Join the network and create a profile, including your research topic,
location, interests...
- Feel free to upload your publications (or other publications you think we
might find interesting)
- Start discussions on methodologies, theories, field research, other
issues....
- Post invitations to conferences, workshops, student meetings
As a way of networking, sharing research findings as well as "getting
together" we aim to organize :
- a first meeting and a workshop on Medical Anthropology field research in
February 2010 in Berlin, Germany
- a special workshop within the second Medical Anthropology conference of
the RAI in Oxford, England, Summer 2010
- workshop(s) in the coming biennal EASA conference in Dublin, Ireland,
Summer 2010
Your theme proposals are most welcome for these 2 events.
More information upcoming.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us
([log in to unmask]).
Please, forward this message to any Medical Anthropology Student you know !
And feel free to tell us if you prefer not to receive further messages from
us.
Looking forward to welcoming you on StuMedAnth!
Sincerely yours,
EASA MedAnthro students representatives:
