2nd New Zealand Discourse Conference
18 to 20 November 2009
Auckland, New Zealand
Using discourse analysis as a lens enables us to
gain new perspectives on the social world and
generate new insights into influences and
changes in a range of social phenomena. Through
an examination of talk, text and associated
social pratices, issues of identity, agency,
structure, representation, power and practice
can be addressed.
Keynote Speakers
Professor Rick Iedema, Professor Cynthia Harvey,
Professor David Grant.
The deadline for abstracts/proposals is 20 July
2009.
Themes
Use discourse analysis to address theoretical,
methodological or empirical research issues in a
variety of themes, but not limited to:

Education and learning, Globalisation and
development, Finance and capital, Ideology,
power and knowledge, Culture and identity, Media.
