Lecturer in Advertising, Public Relations and Media
0.5 Appointment, pro rata to £30,279 - £37,263pa inc London Weighting
Based at the University's Trent Park campus in north London, this is
an opportunity to join a team delivering academic courses in
Advertising, Public Relations and Media as part of the Publishing and
Media programme cluster.
You would also:
- contribute to areas of the programme cluster as required and
facilitate learning in the Publishing and Media programme cluster to
the highest quality through teaching, administration and advice work
- contribute to curriculum development
- undertake research and scholarly activities within the area.
You should have:
- a proven knowledge of current approaches to teaching and learning
within the area of media studies and in particular contemporary
advertising practice and theory. Areas of practice should include one
or more of the following: devising and developing advertising
campaigns; brand development/management; copywriting;
devising/developing Internet advertising campaigns
- an ability to contribute to the development and delivery of teaching
areas across areas relevant to Advertising, Public Relations and Media
primarily, but also to related programmes. In addition, you should
have a sound knowledge of relevant debates and theoretical frameworks
- excellent and appropriate teaching and communication skills
- be an enthusiastic teacher with a commitment to extending your
abilities within teaching and learning
- experience in delivery and assessment of areas of undergraduate
programmes relevant to this post
- relevant undergraduate and postgraduate level qualifications
- have or be completing a PhD, or have equivalent experience
demonstrated through publication and/or relevant practice
- a demonstrable commitment to teaching, organizational skills,
experience with a diversity of students, and the ability to work
flexibly within a small specialist staff team.
