The Department of Dance Film and Theatre is seeking to appoint a
temporary full time Lecturer in Film Studies to contribute to the
delivery of BA programmes in Film Studies, Film Studies with Creative
Writing and Media Studies. We are looking for a lively creative
thinker with research interests in film as a creative/cultural
industry. Their role will be critical in delivering key areas of the
programme, teaching in their specialist subject and developing the
student placement programme.
We are a developing discipline within the University of Surrey,
building up strong creative links with colleagues in Dance, Theatre
and Music. An interest in the relationship between film and performing
arts and in documentary film would be an advantage.
Candidates should be excellent communicators, able to teach with
knowledge of professional film practice, and able to contribute to the
culture of an interdisciplinary arts department.
The Department of Dance, Film and Theatre Studies at Surrey has an
outstanding international reputation for its contribution to dance
research and teaching. In 2008, we expanded to offer graduate and
undergraduate programmes in Film Studies and Theatre Studies. These
exciting developments included expansion of studio and production
facilities on the campus as well as the merger with the Guildford
School of Acting
