Information and Communications Technology Officer
Mathematical, Physical And Life Sciences Division, Doctoral Training Centre
Grade: 7: Salary £28,839 - £35,469 with a discretionary range to £38,757 p.a.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated
individual to the post of ICT Officer for the Life Sciences Interface
Doctoral Training Centre, the Systems Biology Doctoral Training Centre
and the Systems Approaches to Biomedical Sciences Industrial Doctorate
Centre. Students enrolled in each of the Centres undertake a four-year
DPhil programme.
The ICT Officer will be responsible for the management of all aspects
of user administration, hardware and software installation and
support, maintenance and upgrades of all DTC servers including web,
email, storage and security. He/she will also be responsible for the
strategic planning and development of the DTC ICT infrastructure.
There are approximately 9 academic / administrative staff and 50
students on site for whom the ICT Officer is directly responsible
The successful candidate should be educated to degree level,
preferably in an IT related subject, and have several years of
relevant experience, ideally in higher education. It is essential that
the postholder possesses excellent inter-personal and communication
skills.
