I, too, would be interested. Pasticularly if anyone has experience of integration with SAP.
I am also interested in online sales of images/prints, either via a local authority website or through a commercial service.
Many thanks,
Pat

No one got in touch to say that they were doing it, so I took the silence as an
overwhelming no at the time.
I'd still be interested if there are any museums using Ebay, Amazon etc and all
the rest of my questions!
As you know not many museums seem to have online shops, and anecdotally
regionally museums that do have online shops don't seem to make much money
out of them. It could be that this is because people don't go to museum
websites with shopping in mind, but obviously that's exactly what people want
to do when they go to Ebay, Amazon, etc so the idea was that maybe
museums should move into this marketplace.
It also seems to be that this could be relatively simple to pilot, whereas
setting up an online shop just to see if it works would not!
If people have considered trying to sell things in this way and decided against
it I would also be interested in knowing why they decided against it.
Thanks
Linda

I am interested in whether any museums are selling goods via the web
using
the likes of Amazon, Ebay, etc?
I am most interested in museums that don't have an online shop, but it
would
also be interesting to hear from museums that have an online shop but
are
also selling merchandise via other web sites.
If you are using third party websites to sell your goods - what are you
using?
How successful is it? What sells well and what doesn't etc? And are
there any
pitfalls? etc!
I'd also like to hear from anyone who has already done some research in
this
area.
Please reply to me directly - if anyone else is interested I will
happily collate
the replies and pass them on if you let me know you're interested.
Thanks
Linda
