I think that this sort of approach, since it is looking for "data
structures that imply facts", will do much better if it can exploit the
increasing amount of Linked Data which is available. This can be
embedded within individual pages (which might suit the Google approach,
since the results seem to be page-oriented) or made available in bulk
via e.g. SPARQL end-points.
