BTW - was it a specific module in Moodle? There are some notorious

issue with VMs is I/O. How this affects you depends on your Moodle and

Mac OS X. Will probably move to Linux. Nginx front end to PHP running
as a FastCGI. PostgreSQL database on a separate server.
