Dear colleagues,
As the end of the academic year is approaching, I expect that you may be
planning your annual stock weeding over the summer holiday. I just
wanted to let you know that Phatpocket Ltd offers a free solution to
help libraries manage their stock levels.
With over six years experience working in the education community, we
are aware of the difficulties faced by libraries in removing out of date
books in a manner which is both beneficial to the library and kind to
the environment.
Our service provides an opportunity for libraries to clear their shelves
of unwanted books at no charge and at the same time reducing
environmental damage. We will come to your library and collect books
that you have withdrawn from your shelves.
The aim of Phatpocket Ltd is to ease the financial burden that students
face by providing them with an alternative, low-cost source of
textbooks. 25p from every used book we sell is donated to the African
Children's Educational Trust (www.a-cet.org) for whom we raised over
£3000 last year alone.
We realise that you may have considered using other companies to collect
your withdrawn materials, but feel there are some strong reasons to
choose us over our competitors:
- We offer a completely free service.
- We provide fast and hassle free collections.
- We now collect all withdrawn material (subject to size and type of
collection).
- We ensure that books which are not saleable are recycled and never end
up in landfills.
- We are based in the UK and having been making regular collections from
HE, FE, and other institutions since 2003.
- We have raised thousands of pounds for charity over the past
few years.
- Impeccable customer service is our highest priority.
We are currently helping a number of FE Colleges and HE institutions in
the UK, including Imperial College London and South Thames College,
to manage their stock levels and would be happy to hear from other
libraries interested in using our service. Please feel free to forward
this email to any colleagues not on this list who might also benefit
from our service.
Please contact me at the details below if you have any further questions
or would like to discuss how we might be able to help you.
Kind regards,
Scott Sherman
