I'd have a look at the new features in Adobe Acrobat 9 at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/solutions/detail/protect_info.html?promoid=DNOXY
And also here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/reader/articles/reader_compatibility/readercomp_enhancedsecurity.pdf
Print Screen Deluxe and other utilities such as SnagIt are around of course, but some of the new Acrobat 9 features might be a start in locking down or limiting access.

An interesting question - and I'm not sure there's a solution! Even if you can find a way of preventing users saving PDFs, there are still ways round that - for example, saving the document as a screenshot. Some programs, for example Print Screen Deluxe, are freely available and offer good image resolution, so text would be no problem. It seems like there's nearly always a way to save and disseminate most things nowadays...a copyright nightmare!

Anne

I'd be really grateful for a summary of the answers either directly or on the listserve.
Many thanks

Dear all,
We need to prevent some PDFs from being saved and forwarded by our end
users. Does anyone know of any software that can do this for us -
cheaply? We have had one quote for USD 3,000 per year!
Many thanks,
Caroline
