Dear colleagues.
Early Bird prices will end on the 30th June or earlier if all the
allocated places are sold out beforehand. They are available on a
strictly first-come-first-served basis. For example, the AGI member rate
for the conference (without the ice breaker event) rises from £275 to
£325. These rates include conference attendance, accommodation, food and
the conference party. More details on the AGI website:

Current bookings are ahead of this time last year. If you are planning
to attend, we are more than happy for you to wait longer and pay our
standard fees, but if you want to save money AND ensure that you get to
stay in the conference hotel or nearby, now is the time to book.
AGI GeoCommunity '09 runs on September 23rd & 24th this year (with an
ice breaker evening on the 22nd) and will build on the extremely
successful formula of 2007 and 2008. It will be a residential conference
designed to bring together practitioners, policy makers and suppliers
with thought leaders from the UK and overseas. The theme of the
conference will be 'Realising the Value of Place'.
Plenary speakers include Andrew Turner of 'Father of Neogeography' fame;
Peter Batty, ex CTO of the UK's most successful geospatial company
Smallworld and now founder of Spatial Networking; along with Mark Smith
& Steve Dunn of The Grammar School at Leeds who have done incredible
things with GIS in the teaching curriculum.
Delegates can choose from over 70 sessions, including, papers, keynotes
and lightning pitches, on subjects like Spatial Data Infrastructures,
GeoServices, Return-on-Investment, Local Communities, Environment,
Visualisation, GeoWeb and much more. All this, along with excellent
social events and leading GIS vendors showcasing their products and
solutions, can you really afford to miss out?
