Hi Gilly
I have been making memory drawings of a sort for a while now, in which
two people draw together, the first making a 'random' line and the
second transforming it into the first thing which it begins to resemble
for them.
What started as a game has proven to be very interesting in terms of
spontenaeity, value judgement, visual memory and shared visual memories
. Again and again I find myself taken back to things I saw and drew as
a child, and things I remember my mother showing me how to draw, but
also things I have recently seen and experienced.
I'm unsure what value these have in terms of academic research, but I
am persevering to see where it will go (also because it's great fun).
Your thoughts would be welcome.
