HI All,
Further to my post on the 11th - I have taken the names of those
seeking a copy of our report and will send it out in due course. The
Prof that is carrying out the work for me is currently on Jury Duty so
we have had to postpone our latest meeting. Hopefully it won't be a long
case.....
Dawn

Hi dawn,
E run a Bibliotherapy service Read Yourself well and it is being
evaluated by the University of the West of Scotland. I have a draft
report and am hoping to have a final report by the end of the month -
would this be of interest? We got Ethics Approval from Ayrshire &
Arran
Health Board to run our study and have looked at CORE scores of
participants as well as other measures such as library usage.
If this sounds like what you are looking for don't hesitate to contact
me.

Subject: Evaluation of BOP Schemes
Dear all,
We have a scheme in Liverpool called 'Well Read' which has been
running
for a
few years now, and provides self-help type books to members of the
general
public via public libraries in conjunction with Mersey Care NHS Trust.
We are hoping to conduct some evaluation on the effectiveness of the
project
so far, so that we can become better informed about how to conduct the
project in the future.
Can I ask if any of you know about any evaluation that has happened
with
similar bibliotherapy / Books on Prescription schemes that you have
been
involved with and that you would be happy to share with us? Your input
would
be very valuable to us.
Thanks for your time.
Best wishes.
Dawn McGowan (Knowledge Services Assistant, Mersey Care NHS Trust).
