We have arranged for the archives of the Black & Asian Studies Association
to be deposited at the BCA. This indicates our faith in the new Archives and
its importance to the history of Black peoples in Britain, and thus to the
history of Britain. I, for one, am certainly hoping that it will become our
equivalent of the Schomburg Center in New York.
I think it is essential that the BCA sets up relationships will all 'BEM'
organisations in order (a) to acquire their archives and (b) to inform them
of the material already held, availability, etc.
