aramount Recruitment: Statistician - Statistical Geneticist – Cambridge
An excellent position has arisen for a Statistician – Statistical Geneticist within
a leading scientific research organisation in Cambridge.
As the Statistical Geneticist you will be expected to carry out in-depth quality
control and analysis of large-scale association, re- sequencing datasets
generated by the group. Your main responsibilities will include the development
of analysis pipeline involving data quality control, single- study analysis and
meta-analysis. You will assist in the implementation of such pipelines, using
(semi-)automated routines, in order to generate appropriate data files and run
the analyses / parse the results. In addition as the Statistical Geneticist you
will interpret the results and assist in the planning of future work, as well as
presenting work at international meetings.
Successful candidates should have a PhD in Statistics or relevant discipline.
You should have wide experience with the design and analysis of large scale
genetic association studies and experience in Scripting/ programming methods.
Experience using and integrating information from the main public
bioinformatics is also desirable.
