The role of the business analyst will be to support clients in the use of
complex patient data and to undertake the production of high standard ad hoc
reports to client-specific requirements. You will also:
Be a key contact for clients in the provision of technical assistance,
training and support in the use of patient data.
Develop an understanding of the clients needs in order to provide
input into proposals.
Take responsibility for the management of research projects from
initiation to the delivery of the report, and presentations to clients.
Support the evaluation and testing of the database, including new
developments.
Conduct qualitative or quantitative analysis to assist in the
identification of client issues and the development of solutions.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a Degree, such as mathematics, statistics, informatics,
pharmacology, pharmacy, or equivalent.
Have profound knowledge of statistical methods and their application.
Have established knowledge of programming in SAS.
Be able to demonstrate sound and proven analytical skills.
Be computer literate. Excel, Word and PowerPoint a great advantage
but training will be arranged, and aptitude is more important than practice.
Be well organised, proactive and able to manage own projects.
Work willingly as part of a team.
Have good verbal and written communication skills.
Have the ability to formulate targeted questions in identifying client
needs.
Be able to work confidently at all levels within IMS Health and client
companies.
Have a flexible and 'can do' attitude.
Display common sense.
Experience in the analysis of medical data, e.g. clinical trials Phase I - IV, and
knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous, but is not a
pre-requisite. Applications from other industries will be considered as long as
you possess the transferable statistical and analytical skills.
