Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Epidemiology and Medical
Statistics in this research-intensive Institute with a strong
epidemiological and statistical team and an international reputation for
research in preventive medicine. The post is in the maternal and infant
research group, which is interested in the epidemiology of congenital
anomalies, the efficiency of screening for these anomalies and
developing statistical techniques to analyse data from population based
congenital anomaly registers. Applicants with interests in other areas
are welcome to apply.
You will contribute epidemiological and statistical expertise to the
Centre’s research and teaching, share responsibility for the supervision
of various research activities and take on a future leadership role in
the Centre’s research. As well as teaching medical and dental students
(pre-clinical and clinical years) the postholder will also participate
in a Statistical Advisory Service offered to researchers within the
Medical College.
The suitable candidate would be expected to have experience in medical
research, teaching and have a good grasp of applying quantitative
methods to medicine. A postgraduate qualification (eg MSc or PhD in
Medical Statistics) is desirable. The appointment will be at Grade 5/6
Academic & Education, and within the salary range £37,332 – £46,518
according to experience and qualifications.
