Desi Fashion: British Asian Style

How have British Asian men and women drawn on their heritage and played
out their cultural references through fashion and clothing? Join this
discussion which will explore how British Asian fashion continues to be
reshaped, reinterpreted and re-energised through a cultural dynamic
inspired by music, dance and club culture, from Bhangra and Bollywood,
to the Asian underground scene of the nineties. Speakers include Nihal
Arthanayake, DJ and BBC presenter; Gavin Fernandes, photographer and
stylist, Liaqat Rasul, fashion designer.
There is also a pre-visit to the V & A’s South Asian textile store to
see related objects at 6pm. Advance booking is essential.
